...the most important thing you learned from the videos about using technology with young children:


First and foremost, children are capable of using technology. I realized that technology can be really useful with writing. For example, in “Brown, Bear, Brown, Bear” and “Habitats”, the students transferred their drawings/pictures and writing into this program and it created a slide show. I feel this can be done with a power point presentation; but KidPix seems to be more user-friendly for kids.

In addition, I learned that young kids can be exposed to research at an early age; and technology makes it easier for young learners to know their facts better, and also to know the skills of searching the web.

Overall, I learned that through the use of these programs, the kids were able to teach other kids about what they learned. This instills in them a sense of responsibility and of being knowledgeable learners. I feel this will be a skill that will help students become more successful in their classroom and in their future education (college).
